Cargo light sockets

I recently purchased a 2015 GMC Sierra SLE and have been replacing/upgrading lights. I purchased CREE 921 bulbs for reverse and cargo lamps. The reverse work perfectly and provide a much cleaner/brighter light but when I replaced the cargos, they don't light up. I flipped the bulbs, switched sockets, nothing. I put the stock bulbs in and they work just fine. I looked at the socket and the bulbs and the metal contacts on the sockets are on opposite sides of the bulbs metal contacts... What am I missing? Are they different bulbs?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Hmm, I was going to suggest flipping them around, but since you tried it, you got the bases covered. Try a Reverse bulb since you know it works in the Cargo socket. You would hate to have a faulty bulb drive you crazy.

I think I have it fixed now... Bulbs were out-smarting me... There is 1 metal contact on each side of the bulb... I just straightened them and rebent them onto the other side of the base so that they will make contact with the metal tabs in the socket... Will install them once it stops raining to make sure they work.

Had the same problem with mine. Once fixed one of the bulbs would not light after a couple of days. Reseated the bulb multiple times but it always went out after a day or two. Finally went back to factory bulbs. Crappy OEM sockets. Backup lights are rock solid.

All is working as of now. Hope they don't start acting up after a couple of days. I must say, the lights are significantly brighter than the stock bulbs.
