Media/Bluetooth Music Play Issue

I just started having a problem today with Spotify not playing via Bluetooth. Restarting everything didn't fix the issue. I then thought to unplug it from the USB cable and boom...Spotify works again. This hasn't been an issue since I've had the truck. What changed? I would say, just don't plug in the phone and not worry about it however, I use the phone for navigation and the nav instructions come through bluetooth. Therefore 1. I run the phone battery down so it needs to be plugged in. and 2. I have to play Spotify or some other bluetooth music because I can't select "Radio" for instance as the nav directions won't interrupt the music that way.

 

On a side note. I see that the 2016 has an updated Intellilink version that includes Apple Carplay. Anyone have any insight as to if I'll be able to get the dealer to flash my system to the new updated software version?

One work around would be to have your AC phone charger plugged into the outlet instead of using the USB port, sometimes I do that so I can charge my iPhone but use only my iPod for music. Not sure why it would stop working unless an update occurred to your phone or spotfy

By chance what phone are you using?

I have 2015 with bose and factory nav, and when I link with bluetooth, and use the phone navigation I get no turn by turn from the phone or thru the truck, but once I turn bluetooth off, it works on the phone.

 

The phone I have is an LG G4
