Black Rims on black 2012

I have a 2012 black 1500 with chrome 18" wheels and I really do not like the look of them. I have been toying with the idea of painting the rims black to dismiss some of the chrome on the truck. I do not plan to black out the truck, im just trying to diminish the "flashy" look the rims give off. I tried some experimenting with photoshop. What do you think? Any precautions I should take with plastidip (it will only be temporary until I can afford new wheels) (Sorry for dark pictures)

WD-40 helps to take the dip off that does doesn't peel right away if/when you remove it. My opinion, leave the center cap chrome and the lug nuts chrome and see how that bounces off the black (think black stripes, white car, contrasting features).

Love plastidip

Make sure to do multiple thick coats so it peels off easily when you are done and have your new wheels.

I took off the center caps and just painted everything. The over spray on the tires will disappear within a week or two.

Would you guys recommended leaving the tire untaped when I plastidip it or should i tape it off?? Thanks!

You can just insert deck cards between the wheel and tire, then you're ready to use the plastidip.
