Nothing like the sound

Why do I sound like a squeaky wagon wheel when I drive down the road?  I know I need new U- jooints on the front drive shaft.  But I didn't think that the drive shaft turns when it is just in 2wd.  Am I right?  Or does it rotate?  If not what else could squeak?  I am at a loss.  I don't hear or feel any grinding so I doubt it would be a bearing.  Any help would be great.  Now that it is nice out when the windows go down I go nuts.  I hate having a truck that makes noise.

Check to make sure your spare tire is secure...mine squeaked and it annoyed the living s*%t out of me...took it in, they tightened the spare on the spot and the noise went away.  Nothing like driving down the road in a nice truck on a nice day with the windows down and it squeaking like a POS!

Hmmm.  Good Idea.  Although it sounds like it is comming from up front.  But Echos are tricky.  Any other thoughts welcome

Does it go away when you put on the brakes?

Nope,  But it does slow down.  Only a little when I slow down.  And I have recently replaces the diff fluid.  Maybe I should check it.
