Air Compressor

Ok now this is on my friends truck.  The compressor does not kick in when the AC is turned on.  Just wondering if there are any simple solutions before it is taken to some one.

cheap connentors are another thing to check. My 95 had a problem with the connector that plugged into the accumulator( I think that s what it is called.) You can disconnect the connector and use a jumper wire to check it. if the compressor starts theres the problem.

Yes, I have the same problem on my 95. If I jump the clutch it engages fine. If I bypass the accumulator plug no - go. only power on orange wire. for some reason the little light does not light up on a/c swith button on dash when its depressed. could be a bulb? I may just be low on freon.

Thats it.  Now, how would this be fixed?

Thanks,

Im still working on my problem but have it traced to the light green wire that goes from the module in dash to relay. Im almost certain the circuit board is bad in control panel..GM wants $199.00 cdn for a new one so Im going to investigate more on weekend to see what I can do myself. GM says they sell a lot of them.

My uncle works at a Auto/AC place and he thinks it may be the filter dryer.  Luckily when my friend bought the truck used a year ago his step dad made him buy the 2 year warranty.  So it is out of my hands now.
