New Magnaflow installed!

Replaced the stock muffler with a Magnaflow 4x9x18 today. Had the flapper valve cut out in the process, but left the resonator on. LOVE the sound so far, but maybe a touch too quiet. I'm going to let it break in for a few hundred miles and see if it get's a little louder. If it stays where it is right now, I may remove the resonator as well. I can tell when the AFM kicks in, but I don't really notice any type of "chopper" sound or drone as of yet. I'm driving it a longer Interstate distance on Monday and will see if I start to notice it and report back, but so far, so good! I'll try to get video in the morning.

Cut the flapper and resonator, I still want a louder sound sometimes, however outside the cab it is much lower.

It sounds really good outside the cab, but very quiet inside.

I tried to take video of a cold start, but the sound on my iphone allows you to basically hear nothing lol.

Do you have a part number for the muffler by chance? Also what's the flapper ? How does it sound at highway speeds?

I do. It's 11256. Haven't had it at Interstate speeds yet. I'll be doing that tomorrow morning. I hear a very minimal amount of drone in 4 cyl mode, but I mean very minimal. Hardly noticeable.

Well, took it on the first long Interstate trip since installing the muffler. Results were less than stellar unfortunately. The drone is more noticeable when traveling 75mph in V4. Not unbearable, but noticeable. However, my bigger concern is the gas mileage. I filled up yesterday evening and then drove the entire day today on the interstate. 95% was interstate with an average speed of 75 to 78 mph. My average mpg was a lowly 17.5 mpg! This is about 2 to 4 mpg less than I would average on the same trip! I didn't expect my mpg to get better, but I certainly didn't expect it to be worse. Any thoughts one what it could be? Could removing the flapper have anything to do with it? Would the shorter length muffler cause this? Not very happy about it at this point.
