Private Offer... What's The Catch

I just got the 1500 private offer. I plan on buying my truck Tuesday. What is the catch with this thing? I have the code and everything and it says not valid with some offers? What are these offers? Currently it looks like the truck i plan on getting has consumer cash (1500) and bonus cash (750).

 

Any info would be great!

I was always interested in knowing a little more about these "offers". Is this the same thing as "Private Equity Offer"?

When I used mine, it was compatible with you CC and BC. I was NOT able to use my credit union discount, so I gave up that $750, which was separate from the Bonus Cash, and took the $1,500. It was a net $750 gain.

When I bought my 2014, after I negotiated what I thought was my best deal, I presented the $1500 private offer and $1500 GM card and they knocked off $3000 more with no problems.

I just used the $1500 private offer on top of the Costco Supplier Pricing + cash card offer. My $500 Farm Bureau discount was still valid along with the $4500 in rebates that are available where I am. The private offer did remove the $750 credit union discount or if you have the KBB $750 it replaces that as well.

 

I did all of my verification on rebates over the phone and got my approval via e-mail before visiting the dealership. No games that way.

earlier this year when GMC was doing the 20% off retail, the dealer ran the codes and it didn't apply if you already got the 20% discount. Not sure if that's true, but I still didn't buy the truck.

That's correct. You can't apply anything to the select tag vehicles except your GM Blue card.

Just talked to dealer, the $1,500 is legit. Almost no strings attached.
