Any tips for quitting smoking?  I am quitting (parents caught me and were not happy) and let me tell you, it is hard.  I have the worst craving right now...

You will have to go cold turkey! No slipping one in now and then. I know a few guys that have quit. They said the craving is still there after years of non-smoking. Will power, like mentioned above, is the ticket. :thumb:

I'd also recommend changing the habits that could trigger you wanting to smoke.  When I quit, I would do fine until I went into a bar.  Then I wanted a smoke with my beer.

The first 4-6 weeks are hard, but it gets easier after that.

Stay strong....

I just switched to another habit.  I always had a  craving for a cigarette first thing in the morning.  So now I drink a Mountain dew to pass the urge.  After that it's all about the will power...........

Trash the smokes and don't bum from friends and you will do ok........  Plus with smokes being so expensive you will have some extra pocket change.... :thumb:

Just start dipping.... .....actually, that is what I am doing, I find it easier to quit dipping than smoking, cause now I can eat them sunflower seeds when I want a dip. Good luck Paco...

If anyone has ever smoked Cherokees, they know what I am talking about...LOL.  Marlboros are my personal favorite, but sometimes you have to get what you can.

Long story.  I actually got into mary jane way before cigs, which is unusual.  Let me tell you, it is a learning experiance to say the least.  And the war on drugs is a failure...

You're not old enough to play with matches, how in the world you ever start puffin?

Thats what I was thinking! I always laugh when I see these young kids smokin, just looks funny! Must be something to do with the size if the cig compared to their overall height or something!

As for advice I wouldnt know, never smoked in my life. Cant stand the smell actually. Especially when used car shopping, when I set in one where someone has smoked I jump right back out, its just terrible to me. Plus when I walk in a relatives house who smokes I have to immediately wash my clothes. If I am only in there for 20 seconds I come out smelling like I have been packed in a carton for about 2 years! Those should be a couple things to think about coming from a non smoker. Not sure though, does that smell smell good you you smokers?????
