@stryker_inc would an lc6i give me any control on killing the factory built in output to get a clean signal like a jl clean sweep would. For now I could amp everything and then later either get an lc6i or a moscani. 2 questions. Can I find the moscani on eBay or where are they able to be purchased from. My other question is regarding an amp. My door speakers are 60 watt RMS in which the factory head unit it seems to be well under powered to make at least the rr doors sound any good. So I will be amping them and have read on the alpine 445u. This amp makes 45 watts. From what I've read you should get an amp that has as much or more than what the speakers call for. So I've been eying a pioneer gma6604 4 CH or a rf pbr300x4. Out of those 2 and the 445u would u have a preference on one over the other.

Yep you can find the Mosconi's on eBay or DIYMobileAudio every now and then. Before the mosconi I had an Audison Bit One which is my second choice......

For entry level the mosconi 4to6 or the audison bit ten is more than enough for you. I have always like audiocontrol products, so the lc6i isn't bad either. I am biased towards mosconi or audison, but back in the day you couldn't beat an audio control product.

I would stick with the Alpine products. As far as RMS and stuff like that, it's best to match the speakers and the amps, but IMO clean power and signal is what you want to start with.

Lastly I will end with this. There is another reason I chose the Mosconi. Earlier I stated it allowed me more control over the system. When gathering signals, most lower cost dsp's will sum channels in order to give you that full range signal. Many people make the mistake of including the channel that has the chimes for your truck. It's not really a mistake, because you have to on most occasions in order to get the full range signal. Well when your dsp sums the signals, it will spread the chimes to all the channels at an amplified rate. The mosconi software has allowed me to separate the signals for output, and I have separated that signal to were it belongs, the dash speaker drivers side. For me that's the a-pillar drivers side. It's still a little amplified, but nowhere near unbearable.

When I finally change out the head unit I will no longer have to deal with that since the interface for the new unit has it's own separate chime speaker......

Stryker.. If i amp the door speakers..and not add a DSP...will it sound like crap? Add the DSP later on.

So running the factory radio to amp to speaker and have my signal for my jl 10 inch powered sealed sub coming off my front speaker wires. Since I've always had aftermarket hu I've never had to deal w rolloff and such. Didn't even know this was programmed into stock units til today lol. Basically what I'm looking for now is cleaning up the sound and getting a cleaner sound in the way of lows mids and highs going where they should. With my sub's getting a signal from the fronts, is the sub getting the full freq needed.

On the amp, the audio shop I buy from likes alpine and stated to use the 445u as well. Just not having a matched wattage is my concern..not looking to blow my windows out w volume but definitely needs to be louder than stock. Would you say the alpine has a cleaner sound than the Rockford or pioneer?

I really couldn't tell you about the components you're asking about since I have no experience with them. I also cannot tell you how to deal with a factory non-Bose system since I only have experience with signal out from bose units.

Here's what I can lend to the conversation at this point. Alpine Ty-R 6x9's, maybe it's just the volume of space in the front doors of these, speakers are now broken in, bass is too boomy, almost muddy. Reminds me of the bass out of a cheap bandpass subwoofer box with a crappy amp. Disappointing. Maybe a set of baffles would tighten them up? The little GM Caddy XTS Bose tweeters I placed in the dash might be the best component in the truck right now. I don't mind spending money (don't get me wrong, I'm a cheap bastard at heart), just have never bought into the cubic $$$$ nets cubic results theory. I think there's some middle ground, just need to find it.

Grn funny you say that. I bought those foam baffles for the front and rear doors. Now again I'm not amped so it may be moot until I get an amp but I didn't notice a difference either way. When I get an amp and put the fronts in I'll put the baffle in and leave it for a while. Curious if there's a diff in sound. Agree on money. I've seen some sick Silverado stereo builds but funds are limited to throw at the stereo. Still have a lift, tint, cover ect to get. I'm just looking to make it sound better than factory. The sub has me there and I think once amped and all speaker installed and later down the road get a DSP....she'll sound perfect to me. I like clarity and bass so I'm halfway there
