Electrical connector hanging from underbody

I just returned from an 800 mile trip to see family over the holidays. Lots of snow and ice...the Silverado was fantastic and it makes me wish I would have purchased a full-size 10 years ago, when we started doing these trips!

Anyhow, I returned home and was returning the truck to service, flushing out the underbody (Idaho uses salt...grrrr) and I noticed an electrical connector hanging from the driver's side, just inside the frame rail next to what looks like some kind of electrical motor. The connector itself doesn't appear to have been connected anywhere, but it either shook loose, or a piece of ice may have busted it loose if it was scriveted to part of the frame somewhere. Everything is functioning normally. I tucked the connector around the bracket that holds whatever the electric motor is, so it's out of the way.

Anyone have any idea what this connector is? Where is it supposed to be? Is it secured anywhere on your truck?

Do you have the Amp steps? A motor near the frame rail suggests such. If so, they have 2 wire arterial electrical connectors for each side of the truck to connect LED lights that come off the same wire loom for the Amp motor.

What is an All Star edition?

Sounds like the ethanol sensor wiring harness, clips right to the frame rail where you see it hanging.

Yeah I see that lots on the trucks at work as they see a lot of slush, snow and mud. It's an empty connector that hags down by the transfer case and probably is as mentioned for the ethanol sensor. Just tuck it back up and zip tie it in place!

Yep, Ethanol sensor. Your truck must not be Flex Fuel or it would be plugged into the sensor. It snaps into a hole in the frame gusset next to the ABS pump motor. Just tie it up out of the way.

Thanks guys. It's already zip-tied out of the way, just wanted to make sure it wasn't supposed to be connected to anything. No side steps, and mine's not a Flex fuel vehicle, so that makes sense.

The All Star Edition was an option group for 2015 that is an LT, plus locking rear diff, trailering package, fog lamps.
