Passenger Door Ajar Message

Today my 2006 Silverado extended cab started to display a message of passenger door ajar. Chimes as well so drives me nuts to try and drive. Also a few weeks ago heater was going nuts not working - then working again. I figured it was cold out and now it works.

 

Seemed strange so I went and opened and closed both passenger doors. No luck still displays message and chimes. Parked it with no issues and now this happens.

 

Can I turn off the chime noise while trying or waiting to get it scheduled for fix?

 

Any suggestions on what to do other than take to dealer or shop?

ended up being door latch that has sensor/switch on it.
