I ordered a Silverado 2500 Jan 27th with no issue. Brought in what i wanted to be built sat down with the new car manager and about 45 minutes later we completed the order. The only down side is being told it would take anywhere between 8-12 weeks for delivery. This is the first vehicle I have ordered but I may do it from here on out.

Has anyone else ordered a 2016 Silverado this year?

As of last Friday I am now at 6 weeks and still just "order accepted by GM"

I ordered a Silverado 2WD CC LTZ on 2/11

On 3/5 I checked the status via Chevy chat. I was at 3400 with a 3/21 Target Date.

On 3/14 I checked again for kicks. Same info.

On 3/17 I got a call from my dealer stating their latest info showed that the truck was built on in the hands of the shipper (Basically 4200). Somehow it got bumped up almost 2 weeks early.

To try and get more info on the situation I posted over at GMInsideNews forum on 3/17. There is a guy there who works at a dealership in FL and will check order status for you.

He replied to my request that my truck had hit 4200 as of 3/12. Which is weird because when I checked with Chevy chat on 3/14 they still showed the TD of 3/21 but technically it was already built by then.

So technically with this info my truck took about 4 weeks to build and be transported to the shipper.

At this point I am in the process where I can't get info out of Chevy or GMI. I have to rely on my dealer for projected delivery dates.

So an update on my truck that I ordered 1/27. I was called today and told that the factory would not build my truck. They will only build it if it is a LTZ model not the LT model. Profit margin i guess. They waited 8 weeks to call and let me know. Super nice of them. The dealership i ordered from though are doing all they can to make it right so i do appreciate that. My Order never received a TPW, never made it out of the revived code. Good luck everyone with an order. I will likely try again

I ordered a 2500HD on 2/29 - I haven't received any updates yet.

If its a LT model you may want to contact your dealer. My dealer stated they are not building LT models

What the hell? Really? that sucks! Hopefully they don't do that to my order too.

I'm starting to think the whole custom ordering vehicles thing is not worth it.. They do not make it very nice for the customer.

That's what I said about mine, too. Between the '15 that never got built, and submitting the '16 the day the ordering opened up and still waiting 11 weeks, I was 8 months into it. At that point I just wanted a truck, any truck to drive.

I'm not sure if I'll ever do it again. My truck is perfect and has every option I wanted, and none that I didn't, but holy hell was it just a long drawn out process that shouldn't have been that difficult

My dealer said it still shows as preliminary status and that they'll keep checking. Next I did Chevy chat and was told the order has been accepted but does not have a TPW (target production week) yet.

Yea we slowed down on the midnight edition. As of 3/24 at 6:39 pm was the first one I saw since saturday. So yes we are building LT models, just about a week behind of production due to weather issues in begining of month. If you wanna shoot me some info of your order I can see what I can find out here....

Update: as of 3/28 (Monday) it has now been over 8 weeks and still at 1100 for my 1500 Silverado CC LTZ Z71.

I gave up on mine since it still hasn't started. I found a deal on 2015.5 High Country so I pulled the trigger. Much more truck than I'd be getting in midnight edition... will wrap the grill and mirrors if possible.
