use my p3 from my 14 Silverado or use the gm stock unit in my 16 2500hd ? I only tow one trailer ..Is the p3 that much better if towing a 6500 pound toy hauler. the stock one is very handy if I ever needed to slide the brake lever over than the p3 that's mounted by the emergency foot brake under dash. thanks in advance

Use the factory one. It is integrated into the stability control, grade braking, hill start assist. You can adjust the gain from the steering wheel on the fly. Its overall a nice unit. you don't have to put holes in the truck or hit it with your leg. I'm not sure if it even possible to Deactivate the built in unit.

Agreed, I've used both personally and while i love my P3 and feel it's a stronger braking unit overall, the factory one gets the job done just fine on my 6k Layton

The factory controller is great, well integrated into the complete safety system and very smooth.
