Something in the back popping when slowing down

Alright, first post here so don't judge if I seem to be ignorant.

About a week ago I traded someone for a set of tires and rims, and the back tires are 305/55/20 and the fronts are 35/12.50/20. (About a 1.5" difference). The only reason I agreed to do this is because Im getting new tires in 2 days from now anyway, so I figured it wouldn't hurt anything and i could deal with the ugly appearence for a couple days. Now, I don't know if any of this is related or not but a couple days ago a popping started in the rear of the truck (or at least it seems thats where it is). I first thought it was a tire so I just looked at them and kept driving and ignored it since I was getting new ones anyway. But, now it's a lot louder. I've looked through all the tires and there doesnt seem to be any problems. The popping is only when slowing down and it gets faster at higher speeds, and slower at lower speeds, etc. But, its only when I'm off the gas. Being in neutral while slowing down it still pops. Any ideas?

Your tires have to be within a certain diameter tolerance for the ABS to work correctly. I have no idea what it is. My tire guy always checks the tire spec's to determine is the proposed tires are within spec. The other thing about tolerances is accuracy of your speedometer. From factory it is based on a certain tire size which means diameter. Bigger tires mean less revolutions for a certain distance. In short that means your speedometer reads lower. More speeding tickets.
