Changing jump seats '13 RC

Got the jump seats swapped out today. The truck is a '13 2500 HD RCLB with LS trim. My original jump seat was the one with open storage on top with two cup holders. The replacement was the three cup holder version with the two compartments that open.

I had to remove both seats since the brackets for the jump seat use the same bolts and posts as the inboard seat brackets. I pulled the passenger side and set it on the driveway and didn't even have to remove the seat belt. The drivers side I just lifted off the pins and moved it a few inches and left it in the truck. The shoulder belt was connected to the jump seat so that had to come off and then the jump seat just lifts out. There was no power to the original jump seat.

The replacement was IIRC from a '10 crew cab and had the cup holder on the back. You can't really get to those in my truck. The replacement seat also had the 12v outlet in the bottom compartment and the connector was left on the replacement seat. With my fingers crossed and a little digging around under the carpet I actually found the pigtail for the jump seat outlet. The replacement seat had only a lap belt attached so I removed that and attached my existing shoulder belt which bolted in the same spot. Then it was just a matter of setting the jump seat in first and then replacing both seats. After everything was torqued I just had to snap the plastic covers back in place.

This was a pretty simple job that one person can probably do in about an hour. It took me a little longer since I had to run to the parts store to get a socket and wanted to get everything vacuumed while the seats were out. Sure is nice to have the extra storage now.
