Lift kit without frame modification?

Recommended Posts

Given the prices we pay for these trucks, it makes my skin crawl just thinking about having to cut the frame to install a lift kit. I just hate the idea of taking a metabo with a cut-off wheel and cutting the edge off of a 40k-50k dollar bill.

I've got my annual bonus coming in next month and want to use some of those funds to do a lift kit and tires but everything requires hacking off pieces that are welded to the frame.

Growing up in a body/frame shop working on collisions i'm perfectly capable of doing it properly, but i just cant stand it.

I just wish there was a 100% bolt on kit that could be returned to stock with no trace of evidence it was ever even there.

But there isn't, closest thing would be installing front diff spacers with a leveling kit, if you spend the money you can have a nice setup just being leveled.

Truth is a lift kit with big tires makes these trucks gutless without being regeared and you would just end up hating it unless you went all out and installed gears.

Pro comp 4" kit. No cutting or anything of the sort. Could go back to stock no problem.

Do you currently have this kit installed without cutting? The instructions appear to have a cut step, just curious if it does apply.

There is 4 inch tuff country and rough country I have installed in my 2016 Chevy and I have factory rims with 275 65 r20 and there is absolutely no cutting whatsoever and to top it off you can take it out and put it back to factory and you have no worries whatsoever the dealer installed it for me

Junk "lift", really just a way over extended leveling kit, you must drop the front diff to retain CV angles, there is no way around it...

Lol

How fast can you drive in 4wd with the CV angles being so extreme?

Ever tried giving it gas with the wheel turned all the way in 4wd? Show us the pictures of the busted CV shafts when you do.

Just because a grocery getter will survive with a extremely over extended LEVELING kit doesn't mean it is recommended...

Hey man, sorry you feel this way, I have heard nothing but great things about this lift. Take care.

I ran these lifts and it ruined my truck. To the point of me trading it in for a completely stock vehicle because I was sick of it.
