How are you planning on driving the truck?

If you are just doing nothing but short trips and running around town, you are better off with the 1500, these new diesels with emissions don't like not being worked.

Your not really going to tow so my vote is the 1500 with the 6.2, it is a fun truck to drive.

I would be mainly commuting to and from work and drive short trips around town. As well as long distance occasional trips (anywhere between 200-2000 miles) a couple times a year for vacation.

I know you guys mentioned that the 2017 HD might see a facelift with new gadgets and gizmos. Think the 2017 1500 Denali will see those changes as well? Perhaps I will wait for the end of the year...

Here is a recent thread that discusses that question

Nearly all the responses have suggested going with the 1500, yet you are still asking questions about a 2500. Nothing wrong with that at all. But what I am gleaming is that you really have yourself set on wanting 2500. If you really want one, get one. Just know that there are differences in ride quality between the two. Good luck.

Not much of a ride different it's a fairly soft truck in my eyes I have test drove them both but I like the front bumper of a 1500 compared to the 2500 and you can get a 1500 with the max tow package and get 6.2
