Another tire thread....

Hey all, been reading through the thread, including that monster one on tire/wheels, and haven't noticed an obvious answer to my question.

I have a 2014 silverado 1500 crew cab, stock, with the crappy OEM tires on it in 265-65-18.

Ready to get ride of them, looking at KO2s or Duratracs. I figured why not go up a bit in size, but not anything extreme. I still want to truck to fit in my garage, and also not looking to replace the OEM wheels.

From what I can see, they are both available in:

265-70-18

275-65-18

275-70-18

My basic question is will any of these fit (without rubbing) without a lift or level?

I know for a fact 275 65 will fit without rubbing.. 275 70 would be close I heard of some people getting away with it I have a 2 inch level and there's plenty of room so I don't see why they would rub.. If anything they would brush the carpet liner at full lock that's about it

Life is full of regrets.. Buying bfgs isn't one of them!

The 275/65/18 and 265/70/18 will both fit without a level. The 275/70/18 will be close, and may rub the liner, depending on the particular brand and tread design.

Thanks for the responses so far. I looked up the KO2 sizes.

265-70-18 are 32.6"

275-65-18 are 32

275-70-18 are 33.2

And of course the extra width in the 275s. Heck, I'd go 265-75-18 if they made it. I guess I go think about it for a while...

I have another question I guess. Is the clearance problem with the 275-75-18s in the front only? ie, will they fit in the rear without modification? Again, not that I want a leveling kit, because I don't really want to make the truck to much taller overall. I know I'll get an inch or two from the tires alone.

Yes, with the 275/70/18's the only possible clearance problem will be in the front, when turning. Fitment in the back won't be an issue.
