Radio background

Hello!

 

One thing I do not like is the audio quality (our Traverse has such a better sound system and the Acadia this truck replaced even with the base 4 speakers sounded better) so I will be upgrading the speakers.

 

Another thing I noticed is the lack of a background on the radio screen like the Lambda vehicles have with their radios. Any way to add a background/wallpaper on ours? I have the Intellilink without Nav (just OnStarNav which I plan on upgrading to full Nav with Carplay one day).

 

Also, the startup chime is VERY loud even though I turned it down in the radio itself. Any way to turn it down?

You'd think we'd be able to load a picture as a wallpaper and pictures for Contacts in the Nav system, but no, this has come up many times and no one has ever done this or shown us how to.

 

As far as the chime volume, did you turn it down in settings? Not sure which radio RPO you have, but there was a bulletin with a software update that tones it down a bit. It was only for certain models as I recall. You might want to check with your dealer.

I believe it's IO5. It's the larger touchscreen with the OnStar NAV.

GM has a fix for trucks with RPO code UQ3. #PIT5328B: Chime Volume Too Loud. Involves a reprogram, 2014 and 2015 trucks.
