I have a '97 Silverado with 6' stepside bed which needs to be replaced. Will a '99 or newer stepside work? I haven't had any luck trying to find this out & would appreciate if anybody knows. Thanks

Try going to a junkyard and measuring from the front of the bed to the first set of bolt holes, then the width and comparing it to your truck. If they match you should be good. Might be a mismatch in the wiring connectors, but that's and easy fix if you run into it.

Most good junk yard or automotive recyclers have a computer database that will tell you what parts are interchangeable with different model vehicles.
