There's a bunch of these on eBay...here's one example...made different lengths for Double Cab or Crew Cab...

Why on earth would anyone pay $55 for 10m of LED strip when you can buy it for $10 bucks lol

I just finished installing the new LED strips. Pictures coming tonight! It all works perfect

cant wait to see - let us know how you ended up wiring them

It's not dark enough just yet to take pictures :/ should be in an hour though. I literally just unplugged the control module, unplugged all the LEDs, stripped the wires to the front LEDs, and soldered positive and negative. Mounted them with double sided 3M tape and called it a day!

Ok guys heres some pics and a video. Its worth noting that ill prob swap them out for natural white since they don't match the puddle lights and idk how to change those but the proof of concept is PERFECT :)

What do you guys think?

that looks great - light is much brighter, more evenly spread...i don't think it's that big of deal being different than the puddle lights - I like the brighter white for the amp steps anyway....nice job!

Thanks man It definitely looks great but you can tell in person that it doesn't all look the same and it looks kind off. The pictures don't really show the purple. I think I'm going to have to go with natural white to be honest. They are way brighter than the amp steps for sure but aren't overwhelming like the cob ones.

So did you ever sort out a strip that matches the puddles more?

And it looks like you haven't got your build thread up on the LED Strips yet. This mod is high on my list. I love my AMPS I hate the purple lights and want to swap out for full length White LED Strips.

Thanks.

I'm waiting for the new LEDs to come in. The ones I had ordered still had a little purple to it and I want white white :)

This looks great and I am looking to do the same on my truck as I find the AMP light suck.

What brand lights did you choose?

I just chose a standard set on eBay I don't know if it was branded. Pretty easy to do though

Wanted to bump this as I didn't see your last update. Also, could you provide a link of the exact leds you purchased?

I don't have the exact one I purchases, and honestly I wouldn't get these again I'd go for something in the 4500-5500k range and plan to if these ever go out. Here's what I'd get through eBay.

12V Nature White 4500k-5500k Waterproof 5630 300SMD 5 meter Flexible led Strip

These Chinese ones on eBay are usually massed produced and can be off by 1000k giving you the slight purple tinge like mine vs the natural white that matches the trucks puddle lights. That being said for less than 10 bucks if it isn't what you like you can always repurpose them and try a different one :)
