Cutting out resonator good idea or bad idea

I'm up in the air about taking out the resonator. I've got flowmaster installed. Does the resonator help at all with the back pressure? Will cutting out void any warranty? Will I lose anything by removing it? Any gains other than louder?

I believe the resonator is basically just a 2nd muffler. When I had my exhaust done I had them remove everything from the stock muffler on back. You've already changed the muffler so why worry about warranty? It should make it louder. The only thing you'll lose is weight.

If you cut out the resonator make sure to keep it in case your exhaust is too loud and want to put it back on. I kept mine on since I do occasionally tow and drive a bit at 65-80 mph on the highway. From what I've read exhaust drone is more noticeable without the resonator.

True about the warranty I didn't know how much of a roll the reso played.

Yeah I'll make sure to keep it. Try it out for a bit with it off. It's coming off Thursday so I'll see how it is. My last truck I had the super 44 dumped 10" after the muffler and the drone was pretty bad. If got just the original 40 now with tip out the side. Hopefully it won't be to bad. Thanks guys.

Well from what I've read it's the aggressiveness of the exhaust/muffler is how bad the drone is. So it's more noticeable because removing the resonator will make it a bit more aggressive.

Personally, it looks like a growth in the wheel well so even if the exhaust is too aggressive without the resonator I would rather replace the muffler with a less aggressive muffler rather than putting the resonator back in the truck. Just my opinion though.

Just had the Reso cut out and I am very happy with the results. Sounds badass now.
