The Chevy Had a Good Day!

There are plenty of threads of those who did the AFM disable and removed the front air dam and suffered .5-1 mpg loss. That still puts the GM ahead of the Tundra. On a good day the Tundra may average 17-18 mpg on the hwy. I get that in the city.

Maybe, maybe not. Direct injection certainly helps the GM engines but if you start taking off or disabling the efficiency stuff, I'm not sure GM would still win.

GM trucks probably are quieter, that is one thing GM has gotten incredibly good at. As for ride, I haven't had a chance to drive a Tundra yet so I can't comment for sure but I feel that currently the Ram is probably the one to beat.

As for the hill climb, that one does surprise me since GM is putting embarrassingly tame tires on the new trucks.

And honestly his truck feels responsive and torquey down low, but after that I think the 5.3 can hold it's own, now the 6.2 just blows the yota away!

As it should. The Tundra has a lower rear end gearing than the Silverado even in the Max tow. Even though a tundra feels quicker off the line, I've never felt I needed more power than my Silverado with the 3.42 provides. I'd trade better mpgs for what the Tundra offers in its current package everyday of the week. In fact, that's why I didn't get a Tundra coming out of my previous Tacoma.

Yep! At one point we came out of a toll booth side by side and he took off, I was going to try it but let him go, he's a good friend! To make matters worse "for him" while he was driving my truck a kid in a nice ZR2 S10 gave him the thumbs up!
