Mag hytec diff cover

Hi my name is lewis. My question is, I order a mag hytec diff cover for my 2500hd with a 14 bolt 10.5 rear end . The instructions mentioned that 10.5 has a issue of puking out of the vent . They recommend the vent be move to axle tube. Has anyone install one of this covers, had any problems with oil puking out and or how much oil should I fill it with. The website says 6 quarts , the instructions say 4 to 5 quart.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Mag Hytec and others sometimes relocate the fill hole to allow for more fluid...that causes the puking issue. As long as the level stays more or less the same, there shouldn't be an issue.

I ran a ORU cover on a Dodge AAM 11.5 and it was at least an inch and a half higher that OE. I used to have that picture somewhere.

Yup...I wouldn't over fill if they are known to puke.

My AAM 11.5 never gave issues running 85w140 Royal Purple that inch and a half over filled for 200k miles...but the GM and Dodge variants of that axle are slightly different.

I have on on my 2500hd with a 11.5. The fill hole is also where the dipstick screws in. As log as you tighten it enough, you wont have a problem. Fill it to the full mark on the cover dipstick.
