How does a buy back work? What could I expect?

For anyone who has had their newer truck bought back, what was the process? Were you given the full value of what you initially paid? Did they offer you the same truck? Did you have to pay anything?

I'm just curious now that the dealer is getting GM involved for my frame rust issue. Even if they don't do a buy back I'm real curious on what all those experienced in there buy backs.

*edit - just saw this was posted over in the main forum with some excellent responses. Either way it doesn't sound like a fair deal.. But I guess I will wait and see.
