Another Leveling kit question

Im pretty mechanically inclined but sometimes shy away from projects because I have never done them before. There are also things that if screwed up could cuase more damage so again I am hesitant to attempt. Also having the time to take it to the shop has prevented me in getting my leveling kit done as most shops here are not open on the weekend and that usually the only time I have available.

It is risky especially if you don't have an alternate vehicle and you run into problems during the install!

I have done a ton of DIY projects in my garage but on my '17 Denali, no way I was tacking this. This job touches steering/suspension/drivetrain. Too much that could go wrong. I went back to my dealer and they installed my Rough Country 2" kit and just charged me for an alignment which I would have needed any way. Love the result!

Are there any actual benefits to a level? gas mileage, wear and tear, safety, etc

 

Or are they strictly for looks?

I added a 2" level partly for looks, but mostly for front end clearance. These trucks have such a big rake and you can sometimes have trouble even clearing a curb when creatively parking at a football game. Just the 2" level alone made a huge difference. Got mine done yesterday and love it.

Above the strut, below the strut, all accomplishes the same thing in the end. The ball joint, TRE and axle angles are all changed. Just stick to under 2.5 and you're fine. Figure out whatever you want to accomplish and build accordingly.

Me personally, I'll be installing a 2.5 Front upper spacer and 1" rear from MotoFab either this weekend or next week sometime. (being lazy and waiting for my neighbor to have an open bay in his shop so I can use the lift and air tools). I'll eventually throw on a set of UCA's from someone and then eventually upgrade to some coilovers, but with only 10k on my factory stuff, its not worth it now.
