Maybe I'm missing it, but the videos I've seen don't show access to the housing where I'd replace the nut...

I took the panel off and like I mentioned there’s no access to the handle housing. How difficult is it to remove the rest and reassemble? At this point do I bring it to a body shop?

Well here is the mysterious nut and bolt for the door handle. The new parts that came in had an extra set that I don't need. You still have to pull the door panel to instal these. But have have extra if anyone is interested.

How did you install the nut? I’m having that issue right now.

When I backed out the screw and tried to reinstall it with the new handle piece the nut looks like it has shifted further into the plastic section. I’ve lost the ability to screw in and get it to hold without the nut. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Any help on replacing the nut? I am in the same situation as others. Actually after many internet searches the answer was right in front of me the whole time. There’s a bolt behind where the exterior door handle mounts that needs to removed. This will allow the door handle bracket to be lowered and the nut can be reinstalled.
