GearOn for Silverado/Sierra

I was digging through the Chevrolet accessories website tonight just looking to see if anything new was posted or added for my (our) pickups and came across the following:

 

GM PART# 23218583 --- GearOn Cross bars (2500 HD Silverado)

 

So, looks like they are finally coming out for our trucks. Anyone seen any in real life (outside of the auto shows)? Or better yet, already own them? My main question is does this also fit the 1500? I believe the bed dimensions are the same or at least within 0.1" of each other. The specs on the Chevy site say the same. However, the bars say for 2500 on the accessory site.

 

They also have the utility rack listed.

 

GM PART# 23218582 --- GearOn Utility Rack (1500, 2500, 3500) which makes me think they bars above fit the 1500 as well.

 

I have not seen the bed divider yet, which is really what I was looking for to see what they did in that regard.

 

Just a side note, I believe these require the GM tie down loops to hook onto. Or at least something close to the same size holes. Anyone with more knowledge/experience know for sure?

 

For comparison the part #'s for the Colorado/Canyon versions are 22950523 for crossbars, 22937756 for bed divider and 23144878 for utility rack.

Same beds, so no issue there. I don't see a bed divider for Silverado, but I do for Colorado. Gear On rails mount to the upper tie down hooks. You have to have them horizontal. Looks like the Gear On cross rails have a big wing nut and a long latch type piece, that goes in the bottom side of the tie down loop while the bar sits on the top side.

Yea, I didn't see the divider listed at all either. Glad to know it is indeed the same bed though.

Reviving an old thread...

 

I really like the idea of mounting my Thule bike carriers in the bed like this for camping. Easier to reach than the roof, and can hide them under my tonneau cover when parked. Drawback is the steep price (250+) for the bars, plus whatever Thule gets for the new bolt kits.

 

For $62, I can get 80:20 extruded aluminum bars (see below). Will take some work on my part to get them to mount to the tie downs like the GearOn, but for that kind of savings, I think it's worth it. For 120, i can mount two rails along the sides of the bed, and have the ability to adjust my cross bars anywhere I want. Anybody see any reason why I shouldn't do this? I figure if this stuff is strong enough to make the assembly machines where I work, it should be plenty strong to hold 4 bicycles.

Old thread, but according to https://www.gmpartsonline.net/oem-parts/gm-bed-cross-rails-by-gearon-23218583it does fit the 1500 as well.

Anybody try them out and have pics?
