My truck stopped and revved to max by itself

Recommended Posts

Before someone tells me this was me braking and flooring my truck, it wasn't. I drive with my left foot against the seat and when this happened I moved my right all the way back.

I was merging onto the highway, tapped the brake to slow to the speed of the cars to my left, and my damn truck just screeches to a stop, tires squealing like I had slammed the brakes on. At the same time, the engine revved all the way up. I pulled my feet away from the Pedals, and the truck just sits there for about 3 seconds with the engine pegged out. Then, it stops revving, and I give it a little gas again and it acts normally.

What the hell. I have dashcam video, but it's not too helpful, you can hear the wheels and the engine.

Anyone have any idea? For reference, I am having terrible transmission slamming, possibly related?
