Newbie with an avatar?

How would I be able to do this? Is there a certain amount of posts I have to have before I can?

Ryan, you can have an avatar at anytime. But if you want to use your own pic for one, like many members do, you need to have that pic hosted on some other webspace, i.e. a photosite, personal web space, etc. Then just copy the link into the personal avatar option in the 'My Controls' panel. If you have no web space to use, there might be a member on the site who can host for you?

Just go to where it says "my controls" up on top of the screen then there will be a spot that says edit avatar settings .

just copy / paste the properties into where it has the spot for the url or pick one of the pre-loaded avatars
