Torsion bars

My 2005 1500, 5.3 sits at stock for the front and rear end. I've been thinking about leveling the front end but heard that raising the torsion bar keys causes a lot of stress on ball joints and tie rods. How far can I turn the torsion bar bolts before I cause too much stress in my front end.

Not sure what the maximum is but on my 2006 Sierra, I took it up about an inch and a half, had it realigned (minor tweak). I did it at about 40,000 miles or so, and now have 160,000 and no troubles.
