2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD 6.6 Duramax High oil pressure GMT900

Hi all,

We have a 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD with 6.6 Duramax. We noticed the oil pressure was high 90 - 120 psi on the gauge while driving on interstate. I took it to the dealer and they say there is no maximum oil pressure spec from GM. The dealer basically checked for diagnostic codes and then said "Its high but within limits since there is only a minimum spec from GM.

 

The oil level is normal, truck seems to run fine but the high oil pressure reading is frustrating.

 

Truck is still under 3yr 36 and 5yr 100k warranty.

 

What oil pressure are you seeing in your 2011+ GMT900 Duramax?

Hmm.. Maybe get a second opinion at another dealer?

On my 2012 D-Max my oil pressure is between 60-75 I believe, I'll have to take another look.

Thanks for the reply's. Made appt with Chevy dealer Monday. Hopefully they can do a better job than our local GMC dealer

The Chevrolet dealer service dept was much better than our local GMC service dept. They diagnosed the problem as a bad oil pressure sending unit. Ordered part and installed the next Monday. Oil pressure now reads normal.
