What is fair resolution to ask for?

To the OP, GM is not going to offer to buy your truck back this early. You have yet to try another dealer. What will most likely happen is GM customer service will call your dealer and work with them to get your truck fixed, or tell you to take it to another dealer they have contacted. They might offer you a $500 coupon for free accessories or a free month payment. If it bothers you so much this early on without going to another dealership, contact the BBB or talk to your current dealership and see what they will do for you on a trade in.....either way, you're going to be out some money. Buy backs aren't a free truck for your old one deal.

i was pretty up front with the rep from GM. i told him how aware i was of the vibration issue and headlight issues and that i just want to cut to the chase instead of going to a different dealer and putting up with all the bullshit and only getting the same results. to get all of the dirt chunks out of the paint, over half the truck would need to be repainted. tag on the slew of other issues and they'll end up dumping more money into it than it's worth. i've had the truck less than a year and i don't expect a free truck in return for my old one but i do expect to at least get full current retail value if they were to throw some type of buy back offer. i've read where people walked away with more than that and some with less. usually those who walked away with more pursued things legally. i don't wanna go that route unless i have to but have no qualms in doing so if i don't get satisfactory resolution. my dealer is useless to even discuss a trade at this point. they were quick to take my money but getting them to follow through and fix the issues at hand are an afterthought. i won't waste my time with them.

No paint issues on my 2015 silver metallic. Is this only with some paints?

For the OP I would say to make sure and document everything and not to seek legal advise online. Talk to a lawyer if you think it has gone that far. I am sorry you are upset and all and do feel for you that would make me angry too. Not trying to be insensitive just honest.

i'm not looking for legal advice. my father is an attorney who works for a very large law firm if i need to go that route. i'm just trying to get some insight on what is fair resolution based off other's experiences and opinions. it wouldn't cost me a penny to pursue the issues legally but i'm an honest guy and will give them the opportunity to do the right thing and stand behind their product first before i go that route. i had a 2009 SLE and only had a minor issue with it that was quickly fixed. this truck was supposed to be an upgrade and yet the build quality of their trucks seems to have gone backwards 30 years instead of where it should be.
