Best lift and tire options for a 4.8L

I just bought an '01 Silverado Z-71 with a 4.8L as my new DD, and I plan to do a bit of work to make it a better camping rig. That being said, since it's already at about 100,000 miles and 16 years old, and I want to keep the fuel economy good, I'm not interested in throwing a huge lift and tires under it and regearing it to match. What's the best option out there for a small lift/levelling kit and what's the biggest tire size you want for the 4.8?

I would suggest no bigger than 33" tires on a 4.8 without re-gearing. You shouldn't need a lift to fit those, just a little crank on the torsion bars should give you enough clearing.

^^ agreed, I had a 03 4.8 back in the day with 285's on it and 3 inch leveling keys, looking good but didn't have much power.. Was always going from 3rd to 4th on the highway. I wouldn't go any bigger the 285's and a level
