TMPS Tire Pressure Monitor - Loses Connection After 20 Minutes?

I've got a 2011 2500 Suburban. After about 20 minutes of highway driving the TMPS warning comes on. Most of the time it loses connection to both front wheels - the sensor was replaced in at least one of them last year. Sometimes it loses connection to the front as well as one or both of the rear wheels.

Any idea what could be causing it?

There are non replaceable batteries that could be going bad. I see you replaced a sensor, was it with a new one?

Yes, it was with a new sensor. I find it odd that it always happens after +/- 20 minutes of driving, usually on the highway - and that it is both front sensors at once, sometimes followed by one or both rear sensor. The mechanic was truly puzzled, as am I.

My 07 2500HD started reporting anywhere between 1 and 49 PSI usually homing in on 7 psi. Sometimes it starts out at the right psi and after just a few minutes of driving it drops to 7. Other times it starts out a 7 and never changes. The sensors are original I just mounted my third set of tires last fall. I was hoping that a quick re-learn would help. Now it sounds like a new sensor will be required. My local tire shop sells reconditioned sensors - is that going to be OK or am I just asking for more trouble?

To report back, I took it to the dealership and they found that it was the TPMS receiver that needed to be replaced - that the sensors were not the issue. $550 to replace.

i realize that some like this sort of thing, but for $550 to replace, that is something that would not ever get replaced on my ride. I didn't want to pay for TPMS to begin with, I sure am not going to pay to replace it. I rarely run the pressures the OEM calls for anyway now on my 2500 and the light is always on for the TPMS and the DIC puts out a warning. I dismiss the DIC message and ignore the light. OEM wants me running 60 front and 70 back on my 2500. No way that is happening unless full loaded. I run 55 psi all the way around for empty and light loaded. Much better tire wear and handling, and ride significantly improved, especially on the many gravel roads I deal with daily.
