If you have a 16 model that's not a ltz, or high country you have hid. However since they are d5s bulbs they are only 2200 lumens instead of the 34-3600 lumens that a d2s bulb is. Your bulbs have a smaller 25 watt ballast that's actually attached to the rear of the bulb. You could probably easily upgrade to base d2s cbh bulb with a 35 watt ballast and blow the oem led headlights away.

So what if I have a 2016 1500 ltz what do I have? I been looking and looking for HID lights and I can't find one...on the filter it only shows the 2500 and 3500 for the 2016 models....any ideas

With that model you likely have LED headlights, in which case you have some of the best headlights money can buy. I wouldn't trade LEDs for HID any day of the week, in fact I have the 25w HID and I wish I had 25w LED.

Pros of your LED:

-Instant on/off with no warm-up or cool-down

-Slightly better amp efficiency (barely)

-Super long life in quality diodes

Pros of HID:

-You can get SUPER BRIGHT and blind everyone if you want to

Also, since you have the factory LEDs, you will have a hard time replacing with HIDs without replacing the whole projector.

If you are really set on HID, i have half a mind to trade my 2016 LT headlight assembly for your LTZ assembly... :D Cheers

Probably not, these new led fixtures are hardwired and custom fit and never use any standard bulb base.

But you can always get supplementary lights like grille or sport rack lights if you want more light.Plus they look pretty sweet, I'm a big fan of the amber led grille lights personally cuz they work great in fig and snow as well.

If you want plug and play 35w d5s hid for your 2018 there is 3 choices.

Morimoto for about $320-350 depending on where you buy.

Hylux and ddm tuning for $199

I have the Morimoto 35w d5s and while they are brighter distance is still about the same as the stock 25w d5s bulbs.

How do the Hylux compare in quality to morimoto ? Wh6 are the morimoto two much more?

I got the DDM off of Amazon, look just like the hylux, 4300k. Very happy with increased output. No they don't project out further,  it isn't that more of a function of the reflector design? The light is slightly more blue than factory, closer to the color of the fogs. They come on pretty fast and in the 2 weeks I've had them there have been no issues with them coming on.

Ltz had LED already.  Which is better than the hid lights in my opinion
