Blackout 16 Sierra Headlights?

Has anyone seen any mods to the OEM 16 Sierra 1500 headlights? I've seen some real nice mods to the 14-15 to black them out but have yet to see any for the 16. I fear that it may be pretty challenging with the led running light. (pic for ref)

 

 

My thought as of now is to blackout the chrome to match the rest of the housing then smoke the led ring. Those LEDs are pretty bright as is and I'm not super worried about them not throwing as much light because they aren't driving lights. It looks like I'd also need to make sure that the area of chrome that houses the actual light should be matte on the inside. I assume that is so it doesn't reflect out the side.

 

I tell you, I wish my truck had the 14-15 bumper/headlights. In general I think the 14-15 Chevy/GMCs had much better facias. Especially the Silverado.

Does anyone know if you can swap housings? ie. If I bought a 14-15 headlight housing can I keep the HIDs? I'd assume they would be plug and play but would love to have confirmation before I spend a ton of cash.

The 16 headlight fits in the 14-15. Buy the 16 SLE headlight and its HID. The SLT is LED.

To be honest I'm thinking that I may just blackout the ones I've got at the moment. The new headlights and tails are an expensive deal (as much as a lift as prices so far) and I just don't feel that they are worth it as of now.

 

Maybe once I get everything else done I can revisit buying some new ones.

 

When I blackout my 16 headlights I'll snag some pictures and do a write up.

Thanks, have not got them back yet, will post on my build when I do. I am waiting on them to do my front end refresh. Sorry, but not going to talk pricing since that is something you would have to get with fastheadlights about. Phil is on here, FastWS6TA.
