Meethead Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I did. Currently 30k miles with boost on 5-10 psi. Their just like any other motor. GET A GOOD TUNE and don't get greedy with timing or dyno numbers you will be just fine. What system is this? where did you get the turbo manifolds! I NEED..... I WANT!

Billy346 Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 I'm not scared! I just don't have $8,000.00 sitting around burning a hole in my pocket for purchase, installation, and tuning. Not that I would mind having an extra 150 horsepower,

I NEED..... I WANT!I made everything myself I do this kind of stuff for a living. I just don't post much about it since I'm not a vendor. I'm getting ready to 6.2 swap it I just picked up a 2016 lt1. Also swapping the turbo for something bigger hopefully in the next couple of months it will be ready.
gary03l Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 I have a whipple On mine. So far she's been running strong

I have a L86 that will be going in soon. Cam and ported heads will be done before dropping it in though. RT

RT I'm debating doing a cam swap. I most likely will just to delete the dod lifters. Heads I'm just gonna leave stock put the money elsewhere these things flow plenty to support 1000hp in Stock form.
07Softail Posted December 25, 2016 Author Posted December 25, 2016 Haven't seen any stock heads make that kind of power yet. Who is claiming those numbers on stockers? RT
14rcsb Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 Haven't seen any stock heads make that kind of power yet. Who is claiming those numbers on stockers? RT With boost they will. Not n/a. It's not a matter of claiming. Look at the flow numbers and compare to gen 3 and 4 lsx motors that have made 1000hp without porting. I'd love to have mine ported but it's alot for not alot in my opinion.
14rcsb Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 Also forgot to mention about the cam swap Lingenfelter has a cam sprocket listed on their website to delete vvt also, but it's not released yet. Should make for interesting cam choices.
Juanitos2008 Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 if u want to get 1000hp without changing the cam ur going to need an intake that has holes for injectors to help the stock injectors since the cam controls the mechanical fuel pump

14rcsb Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 I could be wrong about reaching 1000hp without porting with boost but I feel it's doable. A lot of corvette guys are hitting 800+ with ease. Their stopping because of pistons breaking. I read up on the vengeance racing drop in pistons made by wiseco and a lot of guys are having very good luck with them. Some over 1000whp and their literally drop in pistons no balancing needed. As for the fuel system I've been told the same, lt4 pump and injectors is all you need especially if you have a cam with the larger fuel lobe. Haven't researched it for myself but no reason not to believe it.
14rcsb Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 I am at 1000 h.p and going to 1200+, you do the math 700 rwhp thru automatic trans, transfer case on a mustang dyno, and yes I use them both of them everyday just because I can and it makes me happy.Yes in your case when your chasing big numbers especially with a 4wd drivetrain twins probably suit your needs better. What I was saying is the guys who really never push their vehicle, or guys who just want the extra power for towing or something. Each setup has its place. But if you really look at what people are doing not to many people with daily drivers are pushing them to far. Just my theory of course.
