2000 GMC 2500 454 Vortec?

I have in interesting problem I've been scouring the internet to find the answer to and so far I've come up empty. I was hoping someone here might know what's going on with my truck.

My father had a 2000 GMC 2500 454 Vortec 4x4 (4 door) truck that he was about to trade in on a new truck and I decided to buy it from him. The truck has about 175,000 miles on it and still runs awesome, however, it's time for some additional maintenance to be done. I have not been able to find my truck in this particular build to find parts anywhere online.... NAPA, Rock Auto, etc. I even took my truck up to NAPA and they were stumped. My father bought it new so it hasn't been totaled and rebuilt or anything like that. Here are the problems...

1. I can find no variant of the GMC 2500 Sierra made in 2000 that has a 454 (7.4L) engine

2. All registration, insurance, and everything says it's a 2000 but the drivers door plate says manufactured 10-99

3. No variant of any truck made in either 99 or 2000 has drum brakes in the rear (not even available on the parts list for earlier years) and this truck clearly has rear drum brakes and front disc

I'm doing things like CV shafts, shocks/struts, front and rear brakes, tires, instrument panel, etc. I want to make sure that the parts I'm ordering are for the right truck. There are so many inconsistencies I'm wondering if this is some rare variant or type that I'm not seeing here. It has things like mounts for two batteries under the hood.

Thank you!

Look for K2500. C is 2wd, K is 4x4 and then of course the series as in 1500, 2500 or 3500. Pre 88 they used C and K but they used 10, 20 and 30 for the series. Can't remember when they stopped, but when I looked up stuff for my '98 I looked under K1500. I see K2500 with the 7.4 in RockAuto.

It's a 2000 even though it was assembled in late '99. My '14 was assembled in late '13.

1999-2000 some of the 2500's and all of the 3500's were the 1988 style GMT-400 series. Rear drum brakes, Vortec 5.7, 7.4, and 6.5L diesels.

It may also be called a 2000 Classic. GM ran some 2500 and all 3500 pickup trucks under the old body (88-98) until the 2500HD/3500 GMT-800 trucks were ready for 2001. They also made the 3500HD (88-98 body style) until 2002.

yep, that year they were still making the c/k line of trucks and called them "classic" 99-00. I have the 2000 Sierra 2500 with the 6.0 and have a similar issue when finding parts; having to make sure i look for sierra 2500 instead of c/k2500.
