2004 Silverado 1500 Transfer case ?

Hi all new member I have a 2004 Silverado 1500 4X4 with a bad transfer case constant clicking and snapping. I was going to replace it with a used one. The data tag on my case reads

 

246 GM

1258 0859

5 24 04K2

272

 

 

I know its a 246 and ratio is 272 and5 24 is the build date.

 

The used case is marked and is out of a 2001

is this case a direct replacement ? Thanks

The 01 case will not work. Need 03 up transfer case
