2002 Chevy 2500 4X4 transfer case motor

I recently bought my son a 2002 Chevy truck. The 4 wheel drive didn't work, being that we just got the truck and would be more or less restoring the truck I opted to just change the switch, control module, axle actuater and the Transfercase shift motor. The button was working fine but after replacing the shift motor the buttons will not light up. What could this mean?

I wish I had an answer for you. This has been the "lemon" part of my '05 Sierra. My transfer case is shredded wheat due to the faulty switch (3 times), actuator motor, the control module and a software update over the years.

The part said it was came from the factory already set to 2 Hi, but the slot didn't match up to the transfer case so I did plug it up, turn on the key and select 2 Hi, at that point the motor responded and matched the TC.

I have similar problem on my 2005 2500....I have read.........transfer case motor sends position signals to 4wd control module inside the truck....THE wiring connector or wires can go bad not allowing tc motor input to 4wd module.

my dash switch looks ....normal 2wd only lit...if I try for 4wd low it just ratchets ,and clunks for a few seconds, and never engage

4wd hi WILL engage sometimes.....and a few weeks ago it went to neutral......I coasted in to repair shop, went to put it in park sxxxcccrrrrrzzzz grinded like crazy.... turned it off.......and shop says problem with 2wd low....I do not agree, priced harness to 4 wd motor at about 80$$$... still not sure of transfer case motor that's about 275$

NOT DOING ANYTHING until ......well ????? maybe try harness first......BTW check and clean ground wires, that bolt to frame near drivers door........This 4wd PROBLEM is discussed, but most people never FIX IT !!! looking for more input
