Fox shocks

Recommended Posts

I believe King 2.5 front coilovers/rears w/ aftermarket UCA/LCA (for mid-long travel).

Arizona - please chime in if I'm wrong.

In the photo above, I was rocking Cognito ball joint UCAs and Fox 2.0s set at 2.5" of lift. I later moved to King 2.5s and now I have a BajaKits "prerunner" (upper and lower arms) and King 3.0s. The current coilover is close to 2.25" above stock.

The Fox 2.0s were great for light offroad use and were very smooth on-road. However when paired with the Cognito arms they allow too much uptravel and can cause damage to the shock bucket. The King 2.5 and 3.0s are slightly stiffer onroad but a completely different animal offroad.

My control arms look fine right now. I live in southern ga. I think I can get away with the OEM for a little longer???

So are you telling me if I go with the fox 2.0 and and different uniball UCA I will have problems with uptravel? Therefor I shouldn't do that?

The cognito control arms are designed to be used with the fox 2.5 coilovers. According to Fox You will be fine running the fox 2.0 with the stock upper control arm as long as you do not set it above 2" of lift. If you want upper control arms look at brands like icon, or camburg.

So I'd be cool with the fox 2.0s and a Camburg UCA (oem aluminum)?

I would contact Camburg to be 100% confident. I just emailed them to get an answer.

On Fox's website it says that the 2.0 #985-02-018 does not require aftermarket upper control arms.

I know you don't need then with the 2.0s but better safe than sorry. Don't want any ball joint issues and like the uniball.

FOX makes a bunch of different options for your truck. A 2.0 system is their entry level system, but is a big upgrade from the stock shocks or something like 5100s. Arms are not required, but a nice addition to the 2.0 system.

The 2.5 is a larger coilover shock designed for more offroad abuse. More oil capacity, a larger shock piston and beefier components allow it to handle the offroad elements much better. You can also get a resevoir if you plan to do higherspeed desert type offroading. There is also an option for their DSC dual speed controller that allows you to dial in the shocks stifness and response.

FOX makes 0-2" and 0-3" 2.5" diameter coilovers. The 0-2" lift do not require an upper control arm, the 0-3 do.

Here is a listing of all the shocks and their MSRP price. We have by far the best prices on FOX, much less than the MSRP listed below.

You ROCK MRT! So which one of those control arms to you recommend for a truck with OEM aluminum UCA that want to run the fox 2.0 #985-02-018?

ICON or Camburg based on the price and the fact they are proven with the 2.0s, Made in the USA and have great customer support. Dirt King is my go to, but they only make them for the steel suspension trucks.

If anyone is looking at this kit, shoot us a PM with your truck info and desired components and we can put together a package for you!

FOX is out of 2.0s until end of April, but we are receiving a pallet of these on 3/6 (Monday) and will be shipping that following day for all orders placed from here until then. I believe I have 5 pairs of fronts left unclaimed. The rears are in stock and ready to rock. Let me know if I can answer any questions. The remaining sets most likely will not last the week.

Thanks!

MRT
