Here in washington we have already had a few wildland /range fires pop out .

We are going to be having a bad seaon due to early spring showers that have "jump started" the growth of brush and cheat grasses and now they are starting to dry out

This first big one in our district was this past saturday it consumed a lil more than 1000 acres of the ridge land .

This fire was contained with 2 ycfd5 dozers , 2 BIA dozers , 1 ycfd5 trac unit , 4 BIA light brush units , 6 ycfd5 brush units , 2 BIA heavy wildland units , 4 ycfd5 6x6 off-road tenders , and 1 ycfd5 pumper set up for draft . it took 70 firefighters from both BIA and ycfd5 more than 7 hrs to contain this fire .

 Cool pics.

We don't have "cheat grasses", we have pine straw. Probably burns about the same. Stupid kids used to set the woods on fire in front of my house.

I was trying to remember a quote from the crazy guy on Backdraft, but I can't. :D

Robert Deniro, "what would you like to do the world Ronald?"

We had a lot of late rain here in southern california. That just makes the brush grow better. by August it will all be ready to explode.
