BFG Tire Wear Report

Recommended Posts

Today I took off one of my rear tires and put on the spare (because i need to try and refinish the rim). The spare is a brand new tire and the other 3 have been on for about 27K miles

The 4 that are on the truck have a tread depth of 5/16" and the brand new one has a 1/2" tread depth. Have had the tires for about 2.5 yrs now also i only have rotated them 2 times (they are wearing evenly) and i run em at 52 psi

5/16 = 0.3125 inches

1/2 (8/16) = 0.5 inches

1/2 is greater than 5/16

im confused, :D 5/16 is > 1/2 . and 1/2 seems really low for a new tire, is that a typo?

Kids , give em books to read and all they do is chew the covers off em.

If you think education is expensive, you should try ignorance.

:D

I've worked the ghetto beat in our town for the last 2&1/2 years...I know ignorance well.

52psi? :D:thumbs:

Seems alittle high, But i guess its working for you. I run my 285 Terra Grapplers at 32psi

That's where my Nittos are as well. 32psi...Unless I have the boat on there.

I've run 45 psi to 55 psi when towing with the bed loaded. I 'm running 52 psi right now. The bumps feel a little harder but the truck handles good. With the stock rims I thing the profile looks better at 45.

We have 10K on the BFG ATs on our Jeep- virtually no signs of wear. We were initially running 32 lbs but recently jumped to 50 with good results. The ride is certainly a bit stiffer but I like the sharper handling.
