So iv replaced the thermostat and the water pump flushed the radiator and my truck still over heats i have no idea whats going on. Also when i turn on the heat in the truck the air coming out of the vents is warm but not hot like it should be seeing as how the temperature gauge is 3/4 of the way up could it be the heater core? I pulled one of the lines off off it and started the truck it seemed to pump fine. Also tried taking out the thermostat completely and the thing still over heated

Check cooling fan(s) for proper operation. Radiator could still be plugged. Check heater core by flushing through it as well. What are you gauging over heat by? Dash gauge? Other method? A blown head gasket can cause an overheat condition

First thing first. Never trust the dash gauge, use a no contact or some other temperature measuring device to verify. I use my scanner along with a fluke to verify temps. Post back and let us know what the findings are.

Sounds like it needs burped

I agree, maybe you need to burp the system, I had a similar issue and when I burped it everything was fine afterwards. I believe you will find something if you type it in for a search.

+1 needed to burp my 2000 after replacing the water pump. Didn't really over heat but the heater barely got worm. I just left it running on a hill until I didn't see anymore air bubbles.
