Hi. I'm from Dallas. I joined because this site came up when searching for drivability issues. I have a '15 Sierra with the 5.3 - Crew SLE.

I'm not a huge fan as this is my 2nd 5.3 - the first being the 07 vortec in the Avalanche. While it doesn't show any signs of lifter failure at 36k miles, it idles rough and has a weird tapping sound that is directly correlated to the engine oil temperature. Too many dealerships are waiving me off as "high pressure fuel pump" or just "normal under-hood racket".

I thought about buying a duramax until I got on the diesel forum, so I guess I'll just drive this thing into the ground and maybe buy a ford or dodge next time around.
