What is your favorite paint color

:sigh:

I had an 01 Pewter Silverado that I recently traded in for an 03 GMC Sierra....I am now wishing I had gotten red. There have been a couple of scratches that I touched up on my tailgate and the Pewter is very difficult to touch up since it has a high metallic content. The red is a solid color and I would assume easy to touch up...I went with the more conservative color and was hesitant to get such a "look at me" color as red....What are your thoughts fellas?

I had a very torch red Pontiac '99 Grand Am and it was certainly a beautiful color. But in a way, it was like black in that it demanded to be fed to the car wash to maintain its purty_ness. In the bright sunlight, it is one very bright color, but it has to be CLEAN.

Nick repairs were, as you mentioned, easy.

However, on my truck, I have been so amazed just how dirty it can get and not look dirty. I still wash the truck once a week, but it never does look dirty after a rain storm whereas my torch red Pontiac looked insulted after drying from the storm.

Personally, if you have never had a bright red vehicle, and are willing to be friends with the car wash, I'd say go for it---at least once in your life. Oh, that red looks so fine in the bright son when clean.

But, hey, I'm a pro with red now. Sooooo, I went with the very forgiving pewter.

I liked the grey color GM came out w/ a few years ago (storm grey?). When they came out w/ the dark grey metallic for 03 I said yup, gotta have it.

Believe it or not it's not as hard to keep clean as I thought it would be. It shows dirt but not nearly as fast as a darker color, say black- the HARDEST color to keep beautiful- but when it's clean and polished :sigh::cool:

Indigo blue was my first choice, and I lucked out. If they weren't able to find it via dealer trade, it would've been black. That dark gray they had in 99 would've probably been a 3rd choice.

I have to say my favorite is Black. It is a love hate relationship though. Love it when it is clean and hate it when dirty. But nothing beats the look of a clean black truck. Then there is the Indigo Blue. I would have liked that as well. But It is also hard to keep clean because of the dark color. My Neon was Patriot Blue. What a PIMA. But also looked great clean. Red is also beutiful but not my cup of tea.

I used to like blue however it shows dirt and dust bad and show scratches rather well also.

I would have to say that I like the Dark Toredor red that GM came out with also.

I like the Indigo Blue Metallic and the new blue, whatever that was called again.

I also like the dark grey metallic color.

Oh, and black is always cool! :D

The other thing I'm wondering is why Chevy & GMC trucks that are red don't leave the factory with color-matched red fender flares.....? They come with black flares.
