Triplets Now Have Extended Warranty

Recommended Posts

I got aa letter from the GM Recall department last night. Due to the problem that the are having with some of the 4.2L pistons, GM has issued an extended warranty. If your engine fails because of this problem, They will cover it free of charge for 7 years/100,000 miles. This gives me a great piece of mind since my wife hit 40k this week. Anyone else get this notice?

Wow, this is the first classy act I have seen from GM in years! Almost an about face compared to the knock issues with the V8's(and the LS1 Camaro clutches, rear ends, etc.). :withstupid:

Congrats!

Yep. Got mine this week. Have to give GM kudos for stepping up and taking responsibility. Great peace of mind, bad for resale value though!!!

I haven't recieved one yet. Is it just for 02 or for 03 models too.

Trailblazers only come in 2002 and 2003 models.

Actually they made an S-10 version in 2001 called the Trailblazer, but that was with the 4.3L V-6.

I think he meant is it only the 2002 models that get the extended warranty, or does it also apply to the 2003 models as well? :D

How about the Envoys??

Thats what I meant is the warranty for both years or just the 02's. My 03 only has 4900 miles on it and I would hate to think I will have problems after the warranty expires.

As far as I know, it is only the 02 model year that has the problem. So, I doubt that the warranty applies for the 03 model year. My warranty notice did not specify. It just said that my Trailblazer was covered. It did say that the problem occurs in Trailblazers, Envoys, and Bravada's. So, I would think they would all be covered.

I know Chevy produced an upper-level blazer called the Trailblazer. GMC also did this. Both had the 4.3s like you said, so I didn't talk about it.

Those "upper-level" trailblazers that they produced for a year or so. Does anyone know what the differences were?

I see a few around from time to time and kinda wonder. They look just like the regular S-10 Blazers.

I am pretty sure it was just the badging "Trailblazer" on the doors and also embroidered into the leather seats. They were just a little more plush.

A guy next store to me used to have one.
