Passenger seatbelt

Recommended Posts

I have a 16 silverado 2500hd LT.

I noticed last night that I do not have an indicator light to let me know if the passenger airbag is off or on.

Also, there is no light to tell me if the front passenger has a seatbelt on or not.

Is this common?

Thx

Was there a passenger in it?

Was there a passenger in it?

If I had to guess it would only have seatbelt if there is a passenger. And would inly have airbag "off" if there was a very light passenger.

In my 2016 the passenger airbag indicator lights are illuminated within a black rectangle in the overhead console in front of the homelink buttons, once the truck is started it should show one of three indications:

1) Passenger air bag off light illuminated: (no occupant or occupant to light/small)

2) Passenger air bag on light illuminated: (occupant meeting minimum weight requirement and buckled up)

3) Passenger air bag on light illuminated & Red seat belt light illuminated and flashing (Occupant detected but not wearing seat belt)

You have a 2500 HD, they are not setup like the 1500's.

The 2009 that I had and the 15 I currently have both would only sound a chime if above a certain speed if drivers or passanger seatbelt was not buckled.

My 2016 CCSB 2500HD is the same, no seatbelt indicated in the console, and no light on dash or noises if the passenger isn't belted. I took it back to the dealership within a week of buying it and was told it's just how they are? I traded a 2006 2500HD CCSB in and it had it located in the rear view mirror? Did something change since then and maybe its not required on a 3/4 ton truck?
