Hit bird. Broken grill. Need replacement.

Headed home from the holidays through middle of nowhere Kansas and a grouse decided to fly across the highway and get up close and personal with my front end at 75mph. The bird didn't make it and neither did the grill.

I now have a handful of broken plastic in one section of the grill (luckily no damage to radiator).

Any recommendations on where to order a new OEM grill on the cheap? Since I'm going to be doing the work anyway, any recommendations on aftermarket grills?

Double check that number and that good condition ebay one may be a better option. It is probably as good as the one you had on. Are the 2 emblems intact?

Good advice!

Both emblems (Chevy and Z71) are fine. Just looks like it's missing a tooth.

Thanks for the links!. The eBay link isn't the same one. Mine is the black slats with Z71. Prefer to replace it with the same one if possible. gmpartsdirect charges an additional $65 for shipping. I actually used their price to work my dealer down on their price (down from $690). They are ordering it for me for $495. They are charging $55 for installation. I figured it's worth it since it's in the single digits in Minnesota the next week or so. I don't want to risk breaking any plastic clips changing it out in the cold.

Ouch! That's a hefty price for a piece of plastic... I'm putting 3M clear bra on a lot of my front end as soon as we get some warm days, hopefully that will help on the rocks or something to keep from having to buy these crazy priced stuff!

They don't break the Sierra grill the openings are so big they just pile up in front of the radiator.

But that does suck.... :(

This grouse was about the size of a small chicken so I didn't have too high of hopes when I got out to look at it.

It's all good. A good chunk of cash fo sure, but that's the price to play I guess.
